Description

The Kratie Water Treatment Plant is a large-scale water infrastructure project developed to provide a reliable and sustainable clean water supply for Kratie Province. Completed in 2013, the project includes a modern treatment plant, water intake system, storage facilities, and an extensive distribution network.

The Background

To meet the increasing demand for safe drinking water, a comprehensive water treatment system was developed to extract raw water from the Mekong River, treat it to national standards, and distribute it throughout Kratie Province. The project significantly strengthened the region's public water supply infrastructure.

Objectives

  • Increase clean water production capacity.
  • Improve access to safe drinking water.
  • Establish a modern and automated water treatment system.
  • Support long-term urban and community development.

Design Concept

The facility was designed as a fully integrated water treatment system, utilizing raw water from the Mekong River and automated SCADA technology to ensure efficient treatment, monitoring, and distribution. The design emphasizes operational reliability, efficient maintenance, and long-term sustainability.

Scope of Work

Key responsibilities delivered by Kimmex.

  • Construction of drainage, fencing, gabion box riprap, gardens, and pavement.
  • Construction of administration and cashier building.
  • Construction of chemical building.
  • Construction of pump room and electrical panel building.
  • Construction of SCADA control room.
  • Construction of storage and warehouse facilities.
  • Installation of an automatic SCADA control system with clean and raw water pressure control.
