Description

The EDC Wat Phnom Headquarters project involved the construction of a modern five-story headquarters to support the administrative and operational functions of Electricité du Cambodge (EDC). Completed in 2014, the facility provides reliable infrastructure for Cambodia's national electricity utility.

The Background

As Cambodia's electricity sector expanded, EDC required improved administrative facilities to support its growing operations. The headquarters project was developed to provide a modern workplace equipped with essential engineering systems for efficient utility management.

Design Concept

The headquarters was designed to provide a functional and reliable working environment for utility administration. The building integrates modern communication, mechanical, and fire protection systems while emphasizing structural durability and efficient daily operations.

Scope of Work

Key responsibilities delivered by Kimmex.

  • Roofing and perimeter fencing works.
  • Foundation construction (120 × 100 × 80 cm, 18 m depth).
  • Construction of a 5-story headquarters building.
  • Installation of generator, telephone, Ethernet, and voice communication systems.
  • Installation of air conditioning and fire protection systems.
  • Installation of 2 passenger elevators.
